Michael-Ende-Year 2009: The Kurpark Garmisch becomes the "Michael-Ende-Kurpark"

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Michael Ende’s birthplace, celebrates the writer in 2009 with a great programme of events. After all, 2009 would not only be the 80th birthday of Michael Ende, also his masterpiece Die unendliche Geschichte (The Neverending Story) is now 30 years old! Readings, exhibitions, theatre performances and a celebration on Ende’s birthday, on 12 November, tempt all to visit the holiday and spa resort at the foot of Mount Zugspitze. On 22 August, the Kurpark Garmisch will be ceremoniously renamed Michael-Ende-Kurpark. And at the exhibiton “Auf den Flügeln der Phantasie” (On the Wings of Fantasy), visitors can once more emerge themselves into the world of the creator of Momo and Die unendliche Geschichte (The Neverending Story) (Tuesday to Saturday 12-5pm in the Kurhaus Garmisch).
